BACKGROUND
Holsem Coffee is a San Diego based coffee roastery known and loved for their speciality roasts, crafted with flavorful, natural ingredients. Holsem wanted to launch its uniquely indulgent instant latte line with new premium packaging that highlights the fun flavor blends, rich indulgent taste and the goodness of fresh natural ingredients.
STRATEGY
The new packaging line for Holsem is fresh, indulgent and nostalgic. The illustration system dials up the simplicity of natural ingredient and blends them with sophesticated colors and playful typography. All packages feature a 'just-add-water badge' to indicate the ease of use value to the customers. We also evolved the identity to be memorable and in-line with the premium Holsem brand. PROCESS
These bags were designed with three things in mind. Handcrafted fun flavors, natural ingredients and rich indulgent taste. I experimented with several illustration styles, playful bright colors, all while keeping the premium richness of the Holsem brand. Some initial concept sketches dialed up the natural ingredients story while some focussed on the playful blends and indulgent flavors, until we landed on a winner.
